OUR FAMILY

Family owned since 1962, Braglio Farms proudly brings you a fresh local farm product. We raise our own beef and pork on 3 farms in Woodstock, Md. Our livestock are sustainably raised on open pastures with no hormones or antibiotics. You will find our meats to have rich flavor, a vibrant color, great marbling, and tender cuts.

My family didn’t start as farmers however, we were immigrants from Naples, Italy. Starting here in America as stone masons in the granite quarries of Woodstock in1932, my family had worked their way into the restaurant business. We still own and operate one of the original establishments, the “Woodstock Inn”.  I personally grew up working in these restaurants washing dishes, cleaning, stocking the shelves, and eventually earning my way up to preparing food for our guests. One of the most valuable concepts I took with me was “quality”.  Learning from chefs about food and the quality differences in ingredients we used to prepare our meals, I wanted to bring the same idea of quality back to where it all comes from- the farm.

In 2016, I graduated from the University of Maryland with an Agricultural Economics Degree and was a captain of the football team. When I got home from school, what started as 1 horse farm, turned into 3 farms and a full-time job. It is not the easiest method of trying to get the best quality of food but it is a good way of life. I have considered myself very lucky to be able to work alongside my family and to carry on the names of the men who gave us our beginning. We are very proud of where we come from and of the product we are able to produce.

It takes years to create a product that can be consistent. Our family has been serving food to their guests in restaurants for 6 decades. It makes us really happy to farm what we serve. In 1934, our great grandfather "Poppa Joe" opened up his first restaurant called "The Windsor Inn."   Today we serve our products in The Woodstock Inn and Braglio Farms Smokehouse. The experience in our kitchens provided the know-how to bring you a consistent restaurant quality cut every time.

Hope to see you on the farm,

 Roman Braglio
